Communicating the Gospel

The word of God

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek 1Cor 1:16

Where ever would we get that idea that the gospel is the power of God?
God's word.

The word of God is the authority by which a Christian knows, understands and believes the truth of God and the words of Jesus Christ. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

If you have never thought about God, the Gospel and why it is that we live and die or what happens after death. Then I pray you will look at these facts and be serious about what you find, don't be a fence sitter who says "it doesn't really matter".

The word of God was inspired by God both Old & new testament 2Pet 1:20-21, 2Tim 3:16-17. It was written my chosen men of God.
See link here about how the scriptures where canonized.

How can we trust God's word is true?
The heart of the problem is mankind doesn't want accountability to anyone but themselves. Sin is doing it's work in every unsaved person, "whose minds the god of this age (lucifer-Satan) has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them." 2Cor 4:41-6

Here are some clear proofs that we can trust the word of God as found in the Holy Scripture.
One proof is prophecy (see link or Links below) given through chosen men of God as a way of communicating His judgements, will and purposes for His people.  In turn they also effect the people on the earth and the earth itself.

Prophecy is predictive yet are also (when in connection with the last days) recapitulated. (they repeat)
For example prophecies about the people of Isarel & the judgment of Egypt. At the time they where given it was because a man called by God (Moses) was given the task to go and save Israel from the hands of the Egyptians and the Pharaoh. Pharaoh is what we must understand as a type of Satan and Egypt a type of the world.
Moses is a type of Christ who God (the Father)sends to deliver His people from the bondage of slavery (sin) God's purpose is not just to save His people but bring them to a land of promise.
During the deliverance God sends 10 plagues upon Egypt, the last had a twofold result, in Exodus 12:1-28 we read Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,“This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.“Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.‘And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb.‘Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.‘Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight.‘And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.‘Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.‘Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire–its head with its legs and its entrails.‘You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire.‘And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD’s Passover.‘For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.‘Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.‘So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.‘Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.‘On the first day there shall be a holy convocation, and on the seventh day there shall be a holy convocation for you. No manner of work shall be done on them; but that which everyone must eat–that only may be prepared by you.‘So you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I will have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance.‘In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month at evening.‘For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, since whoever eats what is leavened, that same person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a native of the land.‘You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread.’ ”Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb.“And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.“For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.“And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and your sons forever.“It will come to pass when you come to the land which the LORD will give you, just as He promised, that you shall keep this service.“And it shall be, when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’“that you shall say, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice of the LORD, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our households.’ ” So the people bowed their heads and worshiped. Then the children of Israel went away and did so; just as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
Exodus 12:29-33 we read "And it came to pass at midnight that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock. So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead. Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the LORD as you have said.“Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.”And the Egyptians urged the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste. For they said, “We shall all be dead.”

God would pass-over those who had trusted God and obeyed His instruction having applied the blood of the lamb accordingly which would save them from God's judgment.
The events that really happened to the Egyptians and Israel is relevant today and the same message applies. The lamb of God (who is Jesus the spotless lamb) came into the world to save sinners by the shedding of His blood. Everyone has to apply the blood to themselves in order to be forgiven of their sin and saved from the judgment of God. Those who do this will also go into the promise land and live forever.

God's intention is to always turn people who are in rebellion back to Him. But not everyone will listen and respond.
Another example of prophecy recapitulating is seen in how God uses the nations to come against His people Israel and then judges those nations for doing so. This included the kingdoms of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, medo-Persia, Greek and Rome. The final judgement will be when all nations are gathered together in the valley of decision - Armageddon.

God is the creator of all things and judge of all things. God has no beginning or end He is eternal. If He was not eternal He would not be God.

Atheist (who say there is "No God") always want to know where did He come from. That is just a ridiculous question. Let me ask atheist's a question. Where did nothing come from? I ask this because atheist and those not believing in God's word want us to believe that all that we see around us came from a big explosion that started from nothingness. Everybody knows nothing + nothing = nothing. If you want a big bang wait until the wrath of God comes upon the earth.
Then they say if God is so great, powerful and loving why does He allow us to suffer and experience life threatening things and never saves us in time. Firstly we must understand, God has already demonstrated His love by providing the perfect sacrifice for sin(His son Jesus) to save us. The window of time we now live in has been given by God in order that everyone will have an opportunity to hear the gospel before He comes with great wrath and judgment upon both the living and the dead. The gospel if you did not already know is "the power of God unto salvation to all who believe"

Prophecy about Jesus Christ

Archaeology 1

Archaeology 2  and more here

Prophecy about Israel.
God said He would first course His people (Israel to be scattered) then He would bring them back to their land. Ezekiel 37:21-27, 39:38, Jer 30:2-4; 31:10; 33:7, Isaiah 11:11-12, Amos 9:13-15.
In 1948 Israel became a nation back in their land.
There is so much to say here but it's no surprise that the issues that surround Israel today are part of God's end time plan for Israel and the nations who surround & oppose her.

BE WARNED
My responsibility is two fold. Firstly to speak the truth in love, speaking to you the word regarding the gospel.  So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Rom 10:17
Secondly to give warning that we live in such times known as the last days and many false christ will arise and deception will be rife and many will pervert the gospel. Matt 24

The Gospel

Paul the apostle said "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.(Rom 1:16)

The gospel we read is the power of God unto salvation to all who believe.
If you don't believe the gospel it is of no power at all. You will not be saved. Saved from what?

Getting Saved
Christian often tell non believes "God loves them" and more recently "God has a wonderful plan for their life."
The problem with each of these statements is that mankind is already condemned, the wrath of God abides on them and they are on their way to the lake of fire. Unless someone steps in and saves them.
That does not sound much like love or a wonderful plan does it?

The word of God communicates salvation is from God alone and He has provided the only means through which we can be saved, Jesus Christ.
Christians believe the word of God referred to as the Holy Scriptures or Scripture are inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and written by man.
The scriptures are dived into two testaments (covenants) The old testament (OT) and the new testament (NT).
The NT was originally written in Greek. The name Jesus in Greek means saviour and Christ is translated, chosen one or anointed one or Messiah in Hebrew)
In Acts 4:10-12 we read “let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.“This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Rom 10:13 says For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
BUT saved from what and to whom?
Christians must learn teach why mankind needs saving? And what & who we are being saved from and to whom?

Please ask yourself this question. Why do we die?
You may know all sorts of reasons why, but the bottom line is, one out of everyone person dies. Of course people have accidents or die as a result of an injury but that aside each one of us dies. Period.

Why dod we die?
The word of God says:
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God: Rom 3:23
The wages for sin is death Rom 6:23

Is that true? According to What God says yes it is true. So sin is the reason for death.

Please ask yourself this question. Where does sin come from?
Rom 5:12-19 says "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned–(For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offence. For if by the one man’s offence many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgement which came from one offence resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offences resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s offence death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)Therefore, as through one man’s offence judgement came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous."

Through one man Adam sin has come to all mankind leading to death and judgement to all.
In the same way the gift (salvation)has been given by the grace of God and the gift by the grace of one man Jesus Christ abounded to many. (Please read again Romans 5:12-19)

Please ask yourself this question. What happens after we die?
Hebrews 9:27 says this "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement,"

Judgement is coming and Jesus Christ will judge the living and the dead 2Tim4:1 "I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:"
It was a command, given by Jesus to those He sent out. Matt 28:14-20, Acts 10:42

But you don't believe the Bible is true, or that God exists so none of the above is going make the slightest bit of difference. Or is it? Because you are still going to die.

Please ask yourself this question. If there is such a judgement what's my sentence? Eternity.
The word of God tells us of two eternal destinies. One is with Jesus reigning in His Kingdom with a completely new resurrected body, mind and spirit.
The other eternal destination is the lake of fire. In which the Devil and false prophets are sentence to along with the souls of the unbelievers who have died. Rev 20:10-15
Just to say heaven & hell at this point is little more complicated to go through (You can ask a question about this) email below.

Furthermore we read" Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.“For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.“For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.“For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgement to the Son,“that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life.“Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.“For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,“and has given Him authority to execute judgement also, because He is the Son of Man.“Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice“and come forth–those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.“I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgement is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me."(John 5:18-30)

John3:36 says this “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Now you know why you are condemned, what you are being saved from, what the outcome of Judgement is and who is your judge.

Most people try and justify themselves by saying all the good things they have done suggesting that they will outweigh the bad stuff. So let's say you are a thief and steal things, you get caught and get taken to the judge. He says you are guilty but you tell him you take your mum out every Friday and keep the speed limits when driving. So are you still a thief? Then you are still guilty and will have to pay the fine or go to prison.

Eph 2:8-9 says "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,not of works, lest anyone should boast."

You might be the nicest , the richest or the poorest, person on the planet but you are still guilty OK
You need saving and given new life.

Counting the Cost
When it comes to preaching the Gospel, Christians are making the mistake of not following Jesus' example and those of the apostles. They don't want to offend, they don't want to loose friends, family or their credibility. So they start a social gospel, speaking like the world, dressing like the world and living like the world, to attract world.
Jesus said it's going to cost everything to follow Him. Luke 14:25-35, Matt 7:13-14

The last days
In the days of Noah God determined that mankind was wicked and He would have to destroy those on the earth with a great flood. The evidence of this flood is seen all over the earth today.
Only 8 People where saved Noah, His wife and family.
The word of God says that in the same way the world was reserved for judgement by flood it is also reserved for a judgement of fire in the last days. 1Peter 3:18-22, 2Peter3

People will carry on as normal.... But then
Matt 24:37-39

God desires that non should perish. But many many will

Now the warning of the false gospel

Paul the apostle said Acts 20:18-27,1Cor 9:16,Gal 1 and verses Gal1:6-12
"I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ."

The health, wealth & prosperity gospel
TV & media stations promote a health, wealth & prosperity gospel. These things are just not true and are another gospel.
Those who's soul purpose is teach & preach about "a prosperous life in Christ" giving them money so you can gain more money and who's attention and focus are on signs, wonders & miracles these are dangerous people who must be avoided.
Jesus himself warned that many would come in His name and deceive many. (Matt 24, 2Tim 3)
Furthermore Paul an Apostle of Jesus wrote of one who is call the son of perdition (the lawless one) He is the anti-christ.
See 2Cor 8:9  For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
1Tim 6:6-10   Now godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and] [it is] certain we can carry nothing out.  And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all [kinds of] evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
2Thess 2:9-12  The coming of the [lawless one] is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,  and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,  that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Acts 8:14-24 We ca not buy the holy Spirit or His working power.

Furthermore if you are such a person who seeks after the spiritual experiences & pursues a healthier wealthier life style. Then you will "not receive the love of the truth that you might be saved" you will in fact believe the lie. BE WARNED.

Having given warning above I am not saying God does not heal or do miracles today by and through the Holy Spirit. But primarily it is our salvation we are to seek God for.  By the hearing of the word of God and is the means through which God speaks so that a person comes to faith and believes in Jesus Christ and is saved. Certainly the soul of a person is given new life having been born again of God through the working of the Holy Spirit and it may also be the case that the body is healed at the same time but the gurantee of our whole being being made complete is on the day of resurrection, when we will be as the Lord is, seeing Him as He is. 1John3:2
